Origami Basket – Sally Prangley

The Origami Basket is my version of origami in basket form. The basket’s black and white paper shapes are mostly angular, with contrasting lines highlighting the idea of the folds that are made in traditional origami. I stack and link shapes with wire that is sometimes hidden, sometimes seen. Bright red circles act like punctuation marks, helping to define the basket’s open spaces. Finished with a clear sealant for use. Due to the handmade nature of my work, no two baskets are ever quite alike.
