I am a ponderer and painter. I grew up wandering through mountain woods, exploring forest creeks, and playing in coastal waters and marshes. As I explore the natural world, I take photos and sketch places that I feel connected to. I am most inspired by open spaces like Montana grasslands, Himalayan meadows, and the barrier island marshlands of my youth.

I draw with pencil on paper and canvas, then move paint according to the subject while reliving the moments of being in that specific place. My process involves many layers of thought and paint. Meditative brushstrokes weave thought and subject together-integrating precious moments with life’s busy-ness.

I grew up in Georgia and have lived in Washington since 1994. I am a teacher, buddhist practitioner, and mother of two. My art studio is in Skykomish, WA.
