Olga Bolgar is a Bellevue, Washington–based artist originally from Veliky Novgorod, near St. Petersburg, Russia. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Yaroslavl Art College in 1999.
From 1999 to 2001, Olga worked in an icon-painting workshop, where she studied traditional tempera techniques and developed a deep appreciation for the discipline, symbolism, and spiritual depth of classical iconography. In 2003, she moved to the United States. Her artistic journey continued through Pennsylvania and Maryland before she settled in the Seattle area, where she now lives and works as a full-time artist.
For Olga, painting is a way of exploring the human experience and creating moments of connection. Her work reflects a search for warmth, meaning, and quiet attention in a world often shaped by speed, distraction, and constant change. Through landscapes, figures, and expressive compositions, she examines themes of belonging, memory, place, and the fragile connections that shape our lives.
Olga exhibits throughout Washington State and beyond. Her paintings are held in private collections across the United States as well as Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Finland, the Philippines, Ukraine, and Russia.
