I started oil painting around 2014 and am self-taught.  I was encouraged by a local artist to just have fun with the process of putting oil paint on canvas.

I love the way that oil paints blend and merge into colors and shades that I might not have expected, providing a surprise to me, the viewer, and with that in mind, allowing the painting to evolve and grow into possibly more than I had in mind to start with and to work towards a finished piece.

I paint what I see around me in an impressionistic /abstract way. I try to show the layers of things that we don’t see but know are there, underneath and possibly hidden; an energy waiting to be shared with those that take the time to really see and imagine.
