Svetlana Molchanova

Svetlana Molchanova is Russian born self -taught emerging artist. She always wanted to be an artist but life sent her to different direction. Only after reaching age of 46 Svetlana got a chance to fulfill her child dream.

In 2005 Svetlana immigrated to Canada with her family.When her son was diagnosed with ADHD and autism, she started to volunteer at a local elementary school to assist an Art teacher with special needs children.At the same time she never stops to create . With her traditional fabric dolls and textile crafts she was a vendor at several large arts and crafts fairs around Vancouver BC, such as Canadian Craft, Circle, International Fusion Festival in Surrey, BC. In Canada Svetlana attended different mix media workshops.

In 2015 Svetlana with her family moved to Seattle area and started to attend private Art school in Lynwood WA. It took her a few more years to meet the right instructors, before she fully submerged into oil painting. She learned palette knife technique in Switzerland and developed her own style in oil painting with this tool.

Living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest Svetlana became a member of the Plein Air Washington Artists a year ago. Since then, she have dedicated a considerable amount of time to painting landscape and nature of beautiful evergreen state.

Svetlana is excited to continue building relationships with other artists and to be a part of the local wonderful art community. She joined APex group ( Artist Personal
Exchange) and now participates in annual art shows of this group in Victor’s Celtic Cafe in Redmond. Theatre 33 in Bellevue chose her as featuring artist in March 2024.
