Zac Aquino
Zac Aquino is a self-taught artist from Washington State. His art was first inspired by ancient Filipino tattoos. It was his first connection to his Filipino blood that runs through his veins. As he explored the different patterns and meanings, he grew closer to his own identity. Then Zac created the original idea behind his art. It is to help reconnect people to their cultural roots through art and culture. As he continued to explore his art and identity, his art evolved.
The second wave of inspiration came from the drawing techniques of perspective, sacred geometry, math, using mirrors as negative space, and pulling inspiration from the likes of M.C. Escher, the simplicity of Carmen Herrera, and the concept of infinity. His art in this contemporary era represents growth, the exploration of oneself, self-love, balance, and learning to express yourself through art and creativity.
